Help:Contents

From Waisman Brain Imaging Wiki

This wiki is designed to be easy to use. If you just have some text that you'd like to add to a page, and aren't too concerned about formatting, links to other pages, or adding pictures, you can just click on the "Edit tab" above the page, click your mouse in the editing window that appears, and start typing away. Don't worry if you make a mistake, or "mess up the page" because all of the previous versions of the page are saved, and it is easy for us to revert back.

If you haven't used a wiki before, take a look at some of these resources:

To get started, take a look at the MediaWiki User's Guide (http://meta.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_User%27s_Guide).

Markup syntax (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Editing) or how to format your page.

Experiment with editing in the Sandbox.

To create a new wiki page, edit an existing page and add a new link, for example: My New Page, save the edit, then click on that link and you will be taken to the new page ready for editing. Alternatively, enter a URL with the following form into your web brower's address line:

http://wiki.brainimaging.waisman.wisc.edu/index.php/My_New_Page

where My_New_Page is the title of the page you wish to create. Add a link to this new page in a appropriate location.

There are a few pages that are only editable by a few people, the Main Page for instance, but these pages also have a discussion tab that will allow you add suggestions if you find the content could use some improvement.
